Sour Diesel CBD: A Guide to Cannabis for Better Health

Microbiological Attributes:

The genetics for this strain is a mix of Sour Diesel and CBD parents. The terpenes also come from the Sour Diesel side with linalool, myrcene, caryophyllene&humulene being dominant terpenoids found in the plant.

Acid-Base Balance:

The average pH level of a cannabis flower grown from seed is between 5 and 6 (with an ideal range of 5.5 to 6).  This strain has an average pH level of 7. It is important to note that lower pH levels will result in the absorption of toxic chemicals through the roots – which you definitely do not want! If the pH drops too low your plant is not able to access calcium and magnesium stored in the soil. These minerals are both essential for healthy growth, so if your plant cannot access them it will not grow properly or yield as expected.  For this reason, you must monitor the pH of your growing environment to ensure that the pH does not drop below 6 at any time. Acceptable Soil Types:

This strain from budpop is suitable for use with most kinds of soils, although some growers have reported better results when using coco coir or a peat/peat-based potting mix. As long as you maintain an acceptable nutrient content in your soil (high nitrogen) then nutrients should be readily available for your plants over their life cycle for sour diesel CBD.

Nitrogen Content:

The container you are using may have come with a small white tag telling you the approximate nitrogen content of your potting mix. The numbers on this tag are displayed as N-P-K, representing Nitrogen – Phosphorus – Potassium.  If these numbers are high, it indicates that there is plenty of nitrogen readily available for your plant to access during its life cycle. On the other hand, if the numbers are relatively low, adding additional fertilizer (in liquid or slow-release forms) will increase the yield and speed up growth rates immensely.

This strain has moderate resistance to molds and mildews. It is fairly easy for novice growers to cultivate due to its strong genetics, but it can be a little trickier for experienced growers because the plant experiences nutrient deficiencies fairly easily if not given proper nutrients at the right intervals throughout its life cycle. Some of these deficiencies include nitrogen, magnesium, or calcium deficiencies. However, all of these issues are preventable with good gardening practices.
